RC Presents: AWS SageMaker Immersion Day – April 9, 12-4:30pm Friedhoff Hall 1

1. Modernized Academic Operations and Teaching & Learning – 11 am – 12pm:

Amazon SageMaker Canvas Immersion Day – February 27th 12-4:30 pm, Green Center 225

Amazon SageMaker Canvas Immersion Day is a hands-on learning experience that introduces participants to no-code machine learning. Through instructor-led sessions, participants learn how to use SageMaker Canvas to solve real business problems using public datasets.

No prior technical experience is required to complete these labs. While some familiarity with machine learning concepts and terminology is helpful for understanding the results, it’s not mandatory. Participants will receive access to AWS accounts for completing the labs.

RC Presents: New HPC User Workshop for Spring 2025

The Research Computing Group at Mines is hosting an Intro to High Performance Computing (HPC) workshop for new and existing computational researchers on January 28-30, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 pm in n Laboriola Innovation Hub (LC) 202 from 4:00-7:00pm!. New & current Wendian and Mio users are both encouraged to register!

We have an exciting agenda planned: 

  • Introduction to Serial vs. Parallel Computing
  • Introduction to “Pre-HPC” skills using Linux & Bash
  • Introduction to HPC job scheduling using Slurm
  • Unleashing the Power of Python and Jupyter Notebooks
